Barry Cryer and Colin Sell – the Ant and Dec of the Sanatogen Set – reunite to bring you a new show, devised by them after the visitors left. Cryer, still a “Sprightly Veteran” (Undertakers Gazette) and Sell a “Legendary Virtuoso” (Pensioners Website) combine to entertain you with songs, jokes and the amazing realisation that they’re still here. Join them before they come apart!!!!
‘Strictly Come Joking’ promises to be a sell-out night of entertainment, remembered for many years. Barry Cryer is one of the best-loved, funniest people in show business and both he and Colin Sell, the composer and musician, are well-known for their contributions to long running radio shows such as ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue’. Colin also accompanied Barry Cryer and the late Willie Rushton in their stage show ‘Two Old Farts in the Night’. Colin’s ability to play the piano when most people are hysterical is legendary.
Barry’s pedigree is as long as it is illustrious, starting from the Windmill Theatre London, where he worked alongside all legendary comedians, to his career as one of the top comedy writers working with David Frost, for a show that won the Golden Rose at that year’s Montreux Festival. Others have included the Two Ronnies and Morecombe and Wise. As a performer, Barry moved into TV and radio and he has appeared in many of the best-known panel games on British TV.
Barry has become one of the country’s most popular after-dinner speakers and has spoken before the Prince of Wales, entertained Princess Anne and shared speaking duties with the Duke of Edinburgh.
Last night the Savoy Hotel – tonight Goostrey!
