The Roberts’ Master bakers are back by popular request and this year they are showing the Goostrey doughboys and girls how to make the perfect Sourdough loaf.
Sourdough bread is made by the fermentation of dough with yeast and lactobacilli which makes a loaf with better keeping (and some would say better tasting) qualities.
One of the oldest sourdough breads dates from 3700 BCE and was excavated in Switzerland (and not from a local village that will remain nameless).
These workshops are always extremely popular so use your loaf and buy tickets early.
In order to satisfy the very high demand for this workshop it has now been relocated to the brand new demonstration kitchen facility at Roberts Bakery at Northwich. This will enable an even better workshop experience.
